You don't need a MIDI keyboard to play, because your computer keyboard works as a piano too. Pick a layout in Settings›Play with your keyboard. Virtual Piano is the default, and MPP and FL Studio are there if you're already used to one of those.
Keys go by where they sit on the keyboard rather than what's printed on them, so the shape stays the same on AZERTY or any other layout (the letters below are for QWERTY). They stop working while you're typing in a text box or a popup is open. Space isn't mapped to Sustain, so you'll need Sustain on the stage for that.
Typing keys can't tell how hard you pressed, so every note plays at Velocity on the stage (see Velocity). While Studio's Piano roll is open, P, B and E pick tools instead of playing notes.
Virtual Piano
Middle C is t. The white keys run in order along the keyboard, and Shift plays the sharp (shown here as a capital).
